Anyone from the soon-to-be relegated clubs worth getting?
Looking increasingly likely it'll be Fulham, Hudderfield and Cardiff dropping through the trapdoor.
Who, from them, would you look to get in?

Fulham - Mitrovic only, I suppose. Sessegnon possibly too, but will probably go to Spurs. No one else though.
Huddersfield - That young midfielder Alex Pritchard is pretty good, albeit a bit small. Billing looks decent too.
Cardiff - No one whatsoever.

If Brighton drop down, are there any players worth going for? If we bought the plumber, at least it'd stop him always scoring against us.

Re: Anyone from the soon-to-be relegated clubs worth getting?
we are definitely guilty of trying to be overly complicated in the final third and almost try to walk the ball in the net, as Arsenal did for a period a few yrs ago. We rarely take speculative shots from in and around the box which I think is a shame as it always gets the crowd on their feet and occasionally results in a goal.

You used to be able to bet your house on Noble having 2-3 shots from the edge of the D in a game and I cant remember the last time he did that in the last couple of seasons. Im not suggesting Nobes should be still doing that but nobody takes a shot on currently but looks for an overly complicated pass which invariably results in a turnover.

If we didn't win games against other teams in the division we'd be lower down the league.

You really are a dim-witted lesbian aren't you V son?

We did win the game vs Hudds.

If we hadn't done so well against the poorest sides in the league, we'd be right amongst them.

... yet only Wolves outside the top 6 have a better record than us over the top 6 teams.

I bet that's BAFFLED you, V.

>>> You have got to be on the wind up Alex V. We are the complete opposite of flat track bullies

How do you come to this conclusion? From my perspective the vast majority of our points come from the bottom 8. We often play a shape and selection that simply crumbles if the opposition are any good. A quarter of our points this season come from playing the bottom two!

Of course he is. His xP (expected posts after defeat) increases massively after any defeat.

Plus the bloke would like to see HUGILL given a chance for us up front next season.

we need a backup keeper and for me Lossl is the guy we need to pick up for relatively cheap who can keep Fabianski on his toes.

and Mitrovich, obviously.

I don't see how that's a step forward from this year's team. And it's still way too open and lightweight. We're flat track bullies - if the opposition are bad enough we may function.

Imo if that's the team next year, just stick Antonio up front and save £30m+ for the same result.

Fab

Fredericks Diop Balbuena Cresswell

Rice Noble (or new signing)

Anderson Lanzini Yarmalenko

Mitrovic

Great starting 11 !!

It's all based on blind hope not facts, yes. We just don't know what a midfield that hasn't played this season will perform in future. It'd be even more of a job carrying that top-heavy front three AND Lanzini as well - probably suicidal in terms of defensive cover.

Agree with that. We have better possession in the opposition half, we can build pressure at times. But it's been very sporadic and the fact is that overall we aren't much of a threat. At times we're alarmingly poor in this respect. I think it's worth noting given the guff that comes from the manager about our approach.

You're facts are irrelevant - Arguably our most creative midfielders are lanzini and Yarmalenko who have been out all season.

I am talking about Mitrovic being in our team in the future and lanzini and yarmalemko being fit !

Now that's a decent striker in a midfield with Lanzini, yarm and Anderson in it !!

Opta or whatever the most creative players haven't been in our team all year - next season they might be and with mitrovic in the team with THAT midfield he would be wicked !

next !!

Cheers.

I would disagree with your simple binary on what that means. I think we try to make another pass or beat another man in decent positions too often and they don't come off.

We are trying to play better than we are sometimes, which I think can help in the long run but is frustrating now.

Wouldn't surprise me. We've only scored 3 league goals this year that haven't come from a set piece.

Opta. Although let's call it shots-per-game to avoid games in hand etc.
